The "Off The Trail" collection honors my Eastern Cherokee and Chickasaw heritage, paying tribute to my great-great-grandmother who escaped the "Trail of Tears" and hid in Kentucky, as my grandmother shared. They concealed their identities to avoid being killed or forced back onto the trail that displaced many Eastern Tribes. This story inspired me to dedicate the collection to my ancestry, and I drew from the beadwork and artwork of these tribes in my pen and ink design.
